 What Do Our Graduates Say?

"I am proud to have played basketball at Bridgewater College. The people and coaches at BC are committed to maintaining a successful program and building positive relationships among their players."  - BC Hall of Famer Debra Burch Spencer, Class of 1990

“Participating in athletics at Bridgewater College was one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. For me, BC WAS THE TOTAL PACKAGE: Top notch academics and faculty, amazing coaches, and high caliber teammates who shared a goal of excellence in performance in a competitive conference. The smaller size of BC allowed me to be known as an individual not a number; to be nurtured yet challenged in such a way no larger college could have provided. The personal touch and mentoring of my coaches and professors resulted in many cherished victories both on and off the court. I  loved my years as an Eagle and playing in the ODAC. If I could relive my college years, I would definitely do it again at Bridgewater College because it's The TOTAL package!” – BC Hall of Famer Melody Derrow Hinkle, Class of 1991

"Playing at Bridgewater College was an experience that shaped who I am today. Basketball was always extremely competitive and I always felt that I was getting better by playing with and against such good players. In addition, the faculty, the students as well as the community all attend games and are fans of the team which makes for a huge adrenaline rush when playing at home. However, for me getting the opportunity to play for Coach Willi and Coach Justice had the biggest impact. To have two extremely high character people want to get to know you on and off of the court and care for you not only as a student athlete, but also as a person had a great impact on my life. They held me accountable for how I conducted myself on the court, in the classroom, and in life and the lessons that I learned from them have bettered me in various aspects of my personal and professional life today. Having been extremely close to going to another school, I am so thankful that circumstances led me to BC instead. I just can't say enough about the coaches or the program. - Shannon Scales-Midgette PT,DPT, Class of 2007

"Being a part of the Bridgewater Women's Basketball team was one of the best choices I have ever made. My coaches and teammates taught me the fundamentals of teamwork, leadership, and personal accountability all of which I still carry with me today personally and professionally." - Amanda Kyger, Class of 2000
