Lacrosse win streak ends with tough loss to Griffins
Gwynedd-Mercy held off Bridgewater College in the second half Sunday to take an 18-16 victory, snapping the Eagles three-game winning streak.
The Griffins led 10-6 at the half and led the entire second half. Bridgewater pulled to within one, 15-14, with three straight goals, but the Griffins held the Eagles off in the final 8:16 to take the victory.
Mary Robinson scored six goals and Erin Cartwright dished off seven assists to lead the Eagles attack. Megan Bach scored four goals and Leslie Crawford added three. Noelle Najjar, Brooke Barham and Sarah Bursey scored one goal each.
Colleen Schwind recorded 13 saves as the BC goalkeeper.
