Lacrosse pulls away for 21-6 victory
Bridgewater College outscored Sweet Briar 13-2 in the second
half Wednesday to take a 21-6 victory in ODAC lacrosse action.
The Eagles led by just one goal, 4-3, with eight minutes left in
the first half, but outscored the visitors 4-1 during the remainder
of the half to lead 8-4 at the break.
Leslie Crawford scored twice and Erin Cartwright and Mary Robinson
each added one goal to lead the Eagles to halftime lead.
The Eagles scored the first four goals of the second half to open
up a comfortable 12-4 lead and were not threatened the rest of the
way.
Crawford scored six goals to lead the BC attack. Robinson,
Cartwright and Sarah Bursey scored four goals each while Cartwright
also added seven assists. Noelle Najjar scored two goals and Megan
Back added a goal and two assists to complete the BC scoring.
Bridgewater goalkeeper Colleen Schwind recorded 16 saves to lead
the BC defense.
The Eagles improved to 5-6 overall and 1-3 in the ODAC.
