Eagles Fall To Marymount, 14-11

The Bridgewater lacrosse team dropped a non-conference game to the Marymount Saints on Saturday afternoon, 14-11.

The Saints got on the board first when Lori Renner scored on a free position shot.  Renner would score two of the Saints next three goals as Marymount took a 4-0 lead. Junior Megan Bach (Manchester, MD/North Carroll) scored the Eagles first goal with 17:39 left in the half.  MU scored the next four goals, with Renner having two of those.  BC's Leslie Crawford (Myersville, MD/Middletown) scored off an assist from Caitlin Costello (Mount Airy, MD/Linganore) to cut the lead to six.  After another Saints goal, BC then scored five straight goals for a half-time score of 9-7.

Marymount struck first in the second half when MU's Chelsea Ritter took the draw and scored quickly to give the Saints a 7-10 lead.  BC wasn't finished though.  Costello scored on an unassisted play and Taylor Chamberlain (Finksburg, MD/Westminster) scored off an assist from Bach for a 9-10 score.  Costello tied the score with her second goal of the game, and Crawford found the back of the net to gave the Eagles an 11-10 lead with 17:14 left to play.  Marymount scored the next four goals for the final, 14-11.

BC was led in scoring by Crawford with four goals and Bach with three.  Chamberlain & Costello each added two goals.  Goalie Caitlin Boles had nine saves on the afternoon.  Marymount's Renner led the Saints in scoring with seven goals.

BC is now 1-1, 1-0 in the ODAC.

Bridgewater returns to action on Monday, March 7th at 1:00 p.m. when they will face the College of Notre Dame.
