ASHLAND, Va. - Randolph-Macon College used a 9-2 spurt in the first half to take a 12-4 lead and the Yellow Jackets outscored the Eagles 23-14 Saturday in ODAC lacrosse action.
Crawford scored to keep the Eagles within one, 4-3, but the Yellow Jackets scored the next five goals, two by Elyse Cooper, to take a 9-3 lead. After a goal by Knapp, Randolph-Macon added three more goals to lead 12-4.
The Eagles fought back with a goal by Megan Back and two by Taylor Chamberlain to trail 12-7 before Randolph-Macon scored with 1:40 left in the half to lead 13-7 at the break.
Randolph-Macon opened the second half with three goals, all by Cooper, to lead 16-7. Bridgewater answered with a goal by Chamberlain and two by Caitlin Costello to trail 16-10, but another 3-0 spurt by the host team made the score 19-10.
Kelly Egan led the winners with seven goals and five assists and Cooper added six goals and one assist.
Chamberlain paced the Eagles with four goals while Knapp and Costello each scored twice. Crawford and Bach rounded out the BC goal scoring with two each.
The Eagles are now 4-7 overall and 2-3 in the ODAC. Randolph-Macon is now 5-4 overall and 3-0 in the conference.
