Women's Soccer Program Plans European Tour In August
The Bridgewater College women's soccer team will travel to Europe for an 11-day, nine night stay from August 7-17.
The team will spend the first part of its trip in Italy where it will have the opportunity for several training sessions with its coaching staff.
The team will spend the final days of the tour in London where it will play two or three games.
While in Italy, the team will receive guided tours of Rome and Florence. While in Rome the team will tour Imperial Rome, including the Coliseum, the Catacombs, the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel.
The team will then travel to Florence for sightseeing in Montecatini Terme and a visit to the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
The team will arrive in London on August 13 and visit Windsor Castle, the unofficial home of Queen Elizabeth II.
August 14 will be spent sightseeing in Central London with visits to Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey and the Tower of London among the attractions on the tour.
On August 15 the group will visit the Home of Football – Arsenal Emirates Stadium.
August 15 will includes stops at Stratford-upon-Avon, the home of William Shakespeare, and Warwick Castle in addition to the team's final game against local opposition.
