Coach Van Horn Comments

Jacey bleeds Bridgewater. She was a great team player. She played most of her time as a forward but also played OB her senior year. She was always willing to do whatever I asked of her. She always held herself and teammates accountable. She never worried about going out on the limb when it came to holding her teammates accountable. I have found in my 10 years of coaching that this is a rare trait in this generation of players. Jacey always told it to me straight as well. We made her captain her senior year just because we knew she would hold everyone accountable

Jacey was my very first commitment in my coaching tenure at Bridgewater. I remember her first visit during my very first preseason like it was yesterday. I also remember her coming back to watch a game early on in the season sitting on the fence like most our fans do at home games. What I remember the most about Jacey was her work ethic. She was always fit, I don't think I ever had to ask her to go harder. If you were a defender lined up against her you better be ready to play fast and compete because she was coming to challenge everything. My favorite moment of Jacey was her goal she scored her senior year against Mary Wash from about 30 yards out. No one stepped to her so she just laced one upper ninety to the far post. I still show that goal today when we watch film during preseason.
