Eagles Blank Seahawks For Third Straight Win

Sarah Brennan controls the ball

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. - Bridgewater College ran its winning streak to three in a row with a 1-0 victory Wednesday at St. Mary's College.

The Eagles scored the lone goal on a free kick in the 19th minute. Eagles defender Sarah Brennan took the kick for the Eagles and the senior got the ball over the wall and just inside the post to put Bridgewater on top 1-0.

Bridgewater's defense did the rest limiting the Seahawks to just four shots in the second half. Only one of the four shots was on goal.

Eagles goalkeeper Hayley Talbott recorded her second straight shutout, both by identical 1-0 scores. Talbott finished the contest with two saves, one in each half.

Bridgewater held a slim 9-7 edge in shots in the defensive tussle. St. Mary's had a 2-1 edge in corner kicks.

Bridgewater is on the road to North Carolina this weekend for a pair of games. The Eagles play at N.C. Wesleyan on Saturday and then go to Methodist for a Sunday encounter with the Monarchs.
