Eagles Blank Sweet Briar

BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Bridgewater College won its ninth straight contest with a 10-0 victory Wednesday over Sweet Briar College in ODAC women's soccer action.

The Eagles took control with three quick goals, the first coming just seconds into the contest. Keri Rager took a quick cross from Anna Sobus and found the back of the net for a 1-0 Eagles lead.

Sobus finished off an assist from Cyan Coates and Rager scored her second goal when she beat her defender down the left side, cut back into the box and finished to the near post to make the score 3-0.

Sobus scored her second goal with an assist from Ashton Eicher to make it 4-0. The Eagles scored again when Bridget Fabiani sent a cross toward the far post and Bailey Kratz placed her shot just inside the post to make the score 5-0.

Eicher scored off a cross into the box from Fabiani and a deep shot from Taylor Dugger made the score 7-0. Rachel Bullard added a goal off an assist from Bailey Bingham, making the score 8-0 at the half.

Eicher scored an unassisted goal early in the second half for a 9-0 Eagles lead. Bridgewater's final goal came off a corner kick when Isabella Krider sent a ball toward the far post and Hanna Moser's shot glanced off the keeper's hands for the final 10-0 score. Krider's assist on the final goal was the 22nd of her career, tying her for the all-time lead in assists in the Eagles' record book.

Bridgewater is back in action Saturday evening at Emory & Henry. The game is set for a 6:00 p.m. start.
