EMORY, Va. - Bridgewater College set a new program record for consecutive wins with its 10th straight victory Saturday as the Eagles blanked Emory & Henry College, 2-0. The previous record of nine straight was set by the 2014 team.

The Eagles took the lead in the 20th minute when Keri Rager crossed a ball into the 6-yard box and Anna Sobus finished with the goal for a 1-0 Bridgewater lead. The goal was the 11th this season for Sobus.

Bridgewater held a 7-4 edge in shots and a 4-0 margin in corner kicks in the first half, but was unable to add to the lead as the opening 45 minutes ended with the Eagles on top 1-0.

The Eagles added an insurance goal early in the second half in the 60th minute. Rager was on the scoring end of this goal after taking a pass from Katherine Wight to make the score 2-0. The goal was the eighth this season for Rager and pushed her career scoring total past the 100-point mark, becoming just the second player in program history with 100 career points.

Bridgewater finished the contest with a 17-5 advantage in shots and a 6-0 edge in corner kicks.

Hayley Talbott and Sydney Davis combined for the team's fifth straight shutout and the eighth this season. Talbott finished the contest with three saves.

Bridgewater, now 10-1-1 overall and 3-0 in the ODAC, returns to action next Saturday when it hosts Randolph-Macon in a key conference matchup. Game time is set for 11:00 a.m.
