SALEM, Va. - Bridgewater College freshman midfielder Hanna Randolph scored in the final minute of the first overtime Wednesday night to lift the Eagles to a 1-0 non-conference victory over the Roanoke College Maroons.
The victory was the ninth in a row for the 25th-ranked Eagles. Bridgewater is now 10-1 overall.
The Eagles were the aggressor in the overtime period, putting three shots on frame. With the clock under one minute, the Maroons passed the ball upfield, but junior Sydney Ryan stepped in front of the pass and started forward for the Eagles. Ryan sent a through ball ahead to Randolph and the Eagles' freshman slotted her shot past the Roanoke keeper and inside the right post for the game-winner. The goal was Randolph's sixth of the season.
Bridgewater held a slim 12-9 edge in shots and a 7-4 advantage in corner kicks.
Bridgewater keeper Sydney Davis finished the contest with four saves. The shutout was the sixth of the season for the Eagles and the fourth for Davis.
Bridgewater returns to conference action Saturday when the Eagles host Guilford College at 4:00 p.m.
