Women’s Tennis Wraps Up ITA Regional Championships

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – On the final day of competition at the Wilson ITA Regional Championships at the University of Mary Washington, the Bridgewater Eagles picked up two individual wins to round out the weekend of competition.

In the Blue 1 Singles section, Megan Mathias picked up a three set victory over Elaina Iosue by a 2-6, 6-3, 10-7 score.

BC’s other victory came in the Blue 2 singles, when freshman Olivia Stone picked up her first career victory via default over Sarah Budrus.

Miranda Donovan was the lone Eagle to fall on the day, but the freshman pushed the match to three sets before falling by a 2-6, 6-1, 10-4 score to opponent Yilka Cana.

BC is back in action in two weeks at the ITA Regional tournament hosted by Hollins on Oct. 10 and 11.
