Eagles Picked No. 2 In Women's Tennis Poll

The Bridgewater College women's tennis team was picked second in the coaches' preseason poll.

FOREST, Va. - The Bridgewater College women's tennis team was picked second in the ODAC Coaches' Preseason Poll released Thursday.

Perennial conference power Washington and Lee tops the coaches' poll. The Eagles edged Randolph-Macon for the No. 2 spot. The Eagles return five of the top six players from the 2017 team that finished fourth in the regular season standings with a 7-3 conference record.

Jamiah Lewis and Whitney Kiser return to the top two spots on the singles ladder. Kiser was a second-team All-ODAC pick at No. 2 singles.

Lewis and Shannon Quinn teamed up at No. 2 doubles where the pair earned second-team All-ODAC honors. Also returning is the junior Stephanie Barton. Barton was part of the No. 3 doubles team that earned second-team All-ODAC recognition.

Bridgewater opens its season on Feb. 11 when the Eagles play Mary Baldwin University on the Augusta Health indoor courts in Fishersville, Va.
