Women's Tennis Blanks Nebraska Wesleyan

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Bridgewater College women's tennis team took a 9--0 victory Tuesday over the Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolves.

Bridgewater's Jamiah Lewis and Whitney Kiser rolled to an 8-1 victory at No. 1 doubles over Torey Kogel and Makinzie Vandewege. Nicole Shifflett and Stephanie Barton blanked Madi Hinshaw and Jordyn Fossell 8-0 to win at No. 2. The closest doubles came at No. 3 where Bridgewater's Rachel Crawford and Shannon Quinn edged Katie Kjendal and Samantha Slizoski, 8-6.

The Eagles domianted singles play, winning all six matches in straight sets.

Lewis had the toughest match as she turned back Kogel 6-4, 6-3 to win at the No. 1 singles slot. Kiser defeated Hinshaw 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 singles while Shifflett stopped Fossell 6-1, 6-1 to win at No. 3.

At the bottom of the ladder, Barton blanked Vandewege 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 4 slot. Ashley Price picked up the win at No. 5 as she turned back Kjendal 6-1, 6-1. Crawford took the win at No. 6, defeating Slizowski 6-0, 6-0.
