Women's Tennis Blanks Quakers

BRIDGEWATER - Bridgewater College lost a total of just nine games in the entire match Sunday to defeat Guilford College 9-0 in ODAC women's tennis action.

The Eagles won all three doubles matches, losing just one game. Rachel Zarin and Ashley Price were first off the court with an 8-0 victory at No. 3 doubles over Megan Kimpel and Katherine Kane. Nicole Shifflett and Stephanie Barton also won by an 8-0 score at No. 2, defeating Olivia La Ganza and Natalie Whitmeyer. At No. 1 doubles, Jamiah Lewis and Whitney Kiser took an 8-1 win over Makayla McLaurin and Brooklyn Hopkins. 

Kiser defeated Hopkins 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and Lewis took the win at No. 1, stopping McLaurin 6-2, 6-0. Shifflett scored the clinching point at No. 3 with a 6-2, 6-0 win over La Ganza.

Barton at No. 4 and Rachel Crawford at No. 6 won without losing a game. Barton defeated Whitmeyer and Crawford downed Kane. Shannon Quinn completed the sweep with a 6-1, 6-1 decision over Kimpel at the No. 5 slot.
