Women's Track Grabs Pair of Third Place Finishes at Hopkins

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Bridgewater College women's track & field team had its final preparations before defending the Eagles' ODAC championship, at the Johns Hopkins Invitational.

The Eagles took two third place finishes, including freshman Emily Valle in the 400m hurdles (1:06.53). Valle was also 10th in the 100 meters, in 12.70 (Tye Meador was 12th in 12.82) and 19th in the long jump (4.67m/15'4").

Another rookie, Felicia Clements, was third in the high jump after clearing 1.55m/5'1". Teammate Kathryn McElroy was 10th (1.45m/4'9").

Senior Katelyn Senger was fourth in the discus (40.05m/131'5") and eighth in the hammer (39.01m/128'0"). Sydne Moseley placed 12th in the discus (33.01m/108'4").

Junior Maryellen Hauver was fourth in the 800 meters in 2:14.73; Emily Young placed 21st (2:28.72). In the 1500 meters, Emma Daw ran 5:24.81.

Meador also placed 10th in the 200 meters, in 26.63. Moseley was 17th in the shot put (10.52m/34'6.25").

Bridgewater will compete next at the ODAC championships in Lexington, next Friday and Saturday.
