Eagles Impress on Track in Day One of Camel City Invite

Winston-Salem, N.C. - The Bridgewater College women's indoor track and field team traveled to Winston-Salem, N.C. on Friday to compete in the Camel City Invitational.

In the first day of the Camel City Invite, the women impressed on the track.

Emily Valle ran the 400m for 39th with a time of 1:01.84, which becomes the leading time in the ODAC and fourth on Bridgewater's all-time list.

In the 3000 meter, Calista Ariel finished 35th with a time of 11:06.66 and Jenna Rea finished right behind her for 36th at 11:06.82, putting them 6th and 7th on Bridgewater's all-time list.

Emily Young ran for 29th in the 800 meter with a time of 2:26.88, good for third in the ODAC.

Amber Celen stayed atop the ODAC in the long jump, finishing 6th on the day with a leap of 5.50m (18'0.5").

Tye Meador moved to second in the ODAC with a leap of 5.32m (17'5.50") in the long jump.

Day two of the Camel City Invitational continues tomorrow beginning at 9:00 a.m.
