INDIANAPOLIS - Bridgewater College Track and Field athletes Davonta Womack and Amber Celen have qualified in three events for the upcoming NCAA championship meet, as announced today by the NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee.
For each men's individual event contested, including the decathlon, the top 20 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. For each women's individual event contested, including the heptathlon, the top 22 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. For each relay event contested, the top 16 declared relay teams, one per institution, were accepted into the competition.
Celen, a senior from Townsend, Del., qualified in two events. She is seeded 15th in the 100m (12.09) and 18th in the 200m (24.77).
At the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Championships, Celen added a third national title in the 100m and placed second in the 200m.
Womack, a junior from Roanoke, Va., qualified in the 100m and is seeded 17th (10.64).
The championships will be held May 24-26 at the Veteran's Memorial Field Sports Complex in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
