Volleyball Opens Season with Two Wins

San Juan, P.R. – The Bridgewater College volleyball team opened its season with a 2-0 start at the Puerto Rico Classic on Friday.

Match One: Bridgewater 3, Lasell 0 (25-13, 25-22, 25-18) 

Bridgewater dominated, sweeping the match in three sets.

Jenna Hamra posted 16 assists and ten digs in a double-double effort. Macon Frey led the team with 22 digs. Victoria Wilson recorded eight kills and added 12 digs. Rachel Gaston notched eight kills and Allison Clark contributed seven more. 

Match Two: Bridgewater 3, Simpson 2 (22-25, 25-20, 25-12, 21-25, 17-15)

Victoria Wilson and Jenna Hamra each recorded double-doubles. Wilson had 23 assists and 11 digs, while Hamra contributed 22 assists and 10 digs. Allison Clark led the Eagles in kills with 15, and Carleigh Studtmann added 11 kills. Macon Frey chipped in 16 digs as well.

The Eagles are back in action tomorrow at the Puerto Rico Classic as they take on Widener (3:30pm.) and Wilkes (7:30p.m.).
