Smith Places First To Lead Eagles To Team Title At Guilford Cross Country Carnival
GREENSBORO, N.C. - Bridgewater College placed three runners in the Top 10 Saturday to win the team title at the Guilford College Cross Country Carnival held at The Meadows.
Bridgewater's Molly Smith covered the 6K course in a time of 24:34.7 to win the individual title, finishing 14 seconds ahead of the second place finisher.
BC's Samantha Hancock placed third overall with a time of 25:02.4 and Whitney Fitzgerald finished sixth with a time of 26:14.5.
Lauren Heishman placed 14th overall, just ahead of teammate Katie Notarangelo in 15th to complete the Eagles' scoring effort.
Bridgewater won the team title with a score of 39 points to edge second place Catholic with 41 points.
