Eagles Finish With Strong Third-Place Showing At ODAC Women's Cross Country Meet

LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Bridgewater College Eagles challenged for the title Saturday afternoon before settling for third place at the ODAC Women's Cross Country Championship hosted by Randolph College.

Washington and Lee won the title with a total of 46 points, one ahead of Lynchburg College. The Eagles finished with 65 with Roanoke fourth with 88.

Bridgewater placed two runners on the All-ODAC first team. Sophomore Olivia Mills placed second overall with a time of 23:20. Mills led for much of the race before being caught and passed by Lynchburg's Jennie Pernisi who wom the individual title with a time of 22:58.

Molly Smith, also a sophomore, jonied Mills on the All-ODAC first team as she finished seventh with a time of 23:59.

Junior Katie Notarangelo placed 14th overall with a time of 24:33 to earn All-ODAC second team recognition.

Samantha Hancock, a sophomore scored with a 17th place time of 24:56 and freshman Stephanie Breen finished 26th overall to round out the Eagles scoring. Breen finished with a time of 25:57.

Also running for the Eagles were freshman Rachel Cerrone and sophomores Lauren Heishman and Whitney Fitzgerald . Cerrone placed 28th, Heishman finished 33rd and Fitzgerald 34th.
