Eagles Place Fourth at EMU Royals Invitational

HARRISONBURG, Va. – The women's cross country team took a fourth place finish out of the nine teams competing at the EMU Royals Invitational on Friday at Peak View Elementary School.

The Eagles finished with 117 points as a team on the 6K course.

Two Eagles paced the way with two 20 finishes. Freshman Danielle Crist finished in 18th place with a time of 27:21.60, while junior Stephanie Breen placed right behind Crist in 19th with a time of 27:21.80.

Freshman Lauren Johnson finished 22nd with a time of 27:31 and senior Whitney Fitzgerald finished 24th (28:10). Finishing 38th out of the 72 runners was senior Samantha Hancock with a time of 29:34.40.

Washington & Lee University swept the field with 33 points and a first place finish. The Generals had six women finish in the top 15.

The next time the Eagles run is September 21 in Harrisonburg, Va. at the Peak View Course. The Doc Jopson Invitational starts at 5 p.m.
