Women’s Cross Country Competes at Regional Championships

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – Freshman Magdalene Mann paced the Bridgewater College women's cross country team during a 13th-place finish in a 27-team field at the NCAA South/Southeast Region Championships hosted by Berry College on Saturday.

Emory captured the regional championship after scoring 68 points, Rhodes earned second with 103 points and Christopher Newport was third on 117 points.

Mann ran a personal-best time of 24:03.0 to finish 45th out of 213 athletes and lead the Eagles for the third consecutive race.

Junior Maryellen Hauver recorded a time of 24:52.3, while senior Erin Quinn chimed in at 25:20.3 in her final cross country meet.

Freshman Calista Ariel was the next Eagle to cross the finish line on a time of 25:25.9 and then Scarlett Bavin with a time of 26:28.3.

Serena Gale-Butto, of Centre, claimed the individual title by clocking in at 21:51.8.
