Women's Cross Country Picked Fourth in Preseason Poll

FOREST, Va. – The Bridgewater College women's cross country team earned a first-place vote and a total of 91 points to rank fourth in the 2017 ODAC Women's Cross Country Preseason Poll.

After coming off a second straight ODAC Championships title, Washington and Lee received ten first-place votes and a total of 120 points to top the polls. Roanoke College was picked second with 95 points, while Eastern Mennonite University stands in third with 92 points. Lynchburg received the remaining first-place vote and a total of 91 points to sit even with Bridgewater for fourth in the preseason standings.

In 2016, Bridgewater finished fifth at the ODAC Championships and 13th at the NCAA South/Southeast Region Championships. 

After a successful freshman season, Magdalene Mann returns as the Eagles' top runner. She placed 15th as an individual in the 2016 ODAC Championships at 24:22.4.

Bridgewater opens the season with the Eagles Cross Country Challenge on Sept. 1.
