Women's Cross Country Finishes 11th at NCAA South/Southeast Region Championships

NEWPORT NEWS, VA. – Calista Ariel led the Bridgewater College women's cross country team to an 11th place team finish in a 34-team field at the NCAA South/Southeast Region Championships hosted by Christopher Newport on Saturday.

Trinity took home the region title with a score of 80. Bridgewater finished with a team score of 383 points.

Ariel was the only Eagle to finish the 6K race in the top fifty. She crossed the line 29th with a time of 22:42.6, earning her All-South/Southeast Region honors. 

Jenna Rea was the next BC runner to finish, coming in 52nd at 23:11.5. Scarlett Bavin and Emily Young also finished in the top-100. Bavin was 92nd with a time of 24:07.2 and Young was 97th at 24:12.7.

Gabrielle Stravach of Emory took the individual title with a time of 20:59.7.
