EMORY, Va. – The Bridgewater College men's swimming team lost a double-dual meet on Saturday, falling to host Emory & Henry (116-64) and Division II Lees-McRae (113-59).
The Eagles closed the meet with a new school record in the 400 meter free relay. Austin Bacon, Ryan Cunningham, Sean Cunningham and Dylan Shannon swam 4:06.86 to place third.
R. Cunningham provided Bridgewater it's lone event win, taking the 400 free with a time of 4:39.45. His brother Sean was third in the 200 breaststroke, in 2:54.78.
Benjamin Dillon placed third in the 200 back in 2:44.71, narrowly missing his own school mark.
Bacon placed second in the 800 free (9:31.28) and third in the 200 fly (2:28.32).
Bridgewater is 4-9, 2-4 ODAC and will host Virginia Wesleyan next Saturday. It will be Senior Day for Shannon- the team's lone graduating swimmer.
