Box Score 2 BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Bridgewater College softball team dropped two ODAC contests to No. 17 Emory & Henry Saturday at Fulk Field.
Bridgewater 1, Emory & Henry 2
Emory & Henry scored their two runs in the top of the first inning, forcing the Eagles to start the potential comeback early.
Bridgewater put up their only run of the game in bottom of the fifth when Brooklynn Fridley was able to cross on a rundown attempt by the Wasps.
Avery Pinder, Sarah Wimer and Samantha Hensley all had a hit for the Eagles. Brantley Swift pitched a complete game, allowing five hits.

Emory & Henry started the scoring early again, scoring five runs in the top of the second.
Bridgewater posted a run in the bottom of the third on a Wimer double to send Torie Shifflett home.
The Wasps scored another run in the top of fourth, and the Eagles answered on a Shifflett double to send Katrina Martin home to make it 6-2.
The visitors recorded their seventh run in the top the sixth. Shifflett continued her stellar day in the top of the seventh with a two RBI homer with two outs on the board. Ultimately, the Eagles could not complete the comeback and fell 7-4.
Shifflett had a game high three hits followed by Martin with two.
The Eagles return to action on Tuesday, April 20 when they host Randolph-Macon for a doubleheader starting at 3:00 p.m.
