BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Bridgewater College men's swim team won its last home swim meet of the year defeating Hampden-Sydney, 115-78, on Saturday afternoon.
In the 200-meter medley relay, Jack Cataneo, Eric Wilbur, Thomas Rose and Jonathan Taylor won (1:57.82).
In the 400-freestyle relay, Ean Helmlinger, Ryan Cunningham, Luke Wintersgill and Cataneo clocked a 3:50.97, beating the previous record by almost six seconds.
Individually, the men were victorious in numerous events. Helmlinger won the 800 freestyle (9:21.94) and the 400 freestyle (4:30.40), Cataneo won the 100 meter freestyle (57.27), Wilbur won the Mixed 100 IM (1:05.74), Cunningham won the 200 meter IM (2:22.01), Travis McCauley won the 50 meter freestyle (24.43), Cullen Beach won the 100 meter backstroke (1:03.64), Wintersgill won the 200 meter breaststroke (2:38.64).
Next up, Bridgewater will travel to Greensboro, N.C., for the ODAC Championship Feb. 10-13. All four days will have action beginning at 10 a.m.
