RUSTBURG, Va. - The Bridgewater equestrian team took down No. 4 Sacred Heart on a tie breaker on Sunday afternoon.
The Eagles relied on big wins by
Elizabeth Weinreb and
Kelsey Quinn in both fences and the flat.
Weinreb was able to win her point in the fences just edging out Macyla Sousa 79-70 giving BC its first point. Quinn picked up her point over fences as well to knot the score at 2-2 heading to the flat.
Weinreb and Quinn both picked up points in the flat, but Sacred Heart was able to knot the meet up by securing the other two points.Â
The second straight meet for BC went to the composite score, and this time the Eagles prevailed taking down the Pioneers 603-595.
Bridgewater picks up its first win of the year and it comes over a nationally-ranked opponent. The Eagles will return to action on Thursday Nov. 17 when they travel to Auburn to take on the Tigers and the Cowgirls of Oklahoma State.
