COLLEGE STATION, Tx. – The Bridgewater College equestrian team competed against No. 1 Texas A&M and No. 2 Oklahoma St. today in College Station.
The Eagles fell to both the Aggies 8-0, and the Cowgirls 7-1. The equestrian programs for TAMU and OSU sit at the top of the rankings in the dual discipline.
Against the Aggies in Fences, Emily Nuthall riding Coraggio came within two raw score points of earning a point for the Eagles when she fell to Kaitlyn Lovingfoss of TAMU 76-74. Caroline Warren riding Sparky came within three of earning a point for BC and Casey Poe lost by six.
Texas A&M held the raw score advantage after fences 305-274.
In Flats, Nuthall again came up just short of a point, 70.5-69.5 riding Nickel. The final score ended with the Aggies earning 607 raw score points to BC's 535.5 for an 8-0 TAMU win.
Against OSU, Bridgewater totaled 285 points to the Cowgirls 316 in Fences. Quinn was two points shy of getting a point for BC.
The Eagles earned a point in Flats from Kelsey Quinn riding Puma, 76-67.5 against Oklahoma State's Katie Pelzel.
The squad will wait to see where they fall in single discipline rankings to see if they will compete in the 2022 NCEA National Championship in April.
