SWEET BRIAR, Va. – The Bridgewater College equestrian team fell in the ECAC semifinal to Sweet Briar College 5-3 on Friday afternoon.
The meet started with Flats where Sweet Briar took three of four points in the event. Kelsey Quinn earned the point for BC riding Emmett. The Vixens earned a 293.5 total score in flats to the Eagles 252.5.
In Fences, the teams tied both earning two points with Quinn and Casey Poe earning a point for BC. Quinn scored 88 points to Paige Kennedys 81 riding Ava and Poe earned 81 points to Atherton's 75 riding Cooley. The Eagles scored a 315.0 in Fences to the Vixens 313.0, but it wouldn't be enough to win the meet as they were still outscored 606.5-567.5.
Quinn was named Most Outstanding Player in both the Fences and Flats in the meet.
The Eagles will be back in action tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. competing for third place in the consolation bracket. The team will face the loser of No. 2 Lynchburg vs. No. 3 Sewanee.
