FARMVILLE, Va. - The Bridgewater College men's swimming team took care of Hampden-Sydney 168-80 during its final ODAC dual of the season.
The Eagles dominated the meet winning 11 of the 14 events on the evening.Â
Ean Helmlinger,
Eric Wilbur,
Ben Beaudoin and
Kris Schultz teamed up for a win in the 400m medley relay with a tim of 4:21.54, nearly 20 seconds ahead of the second place finishing team from HSC.
Andrea Cibrario and
Jose Urdaneta secured a one-two finish for the Eagles in the 400m IM with Cibrario taking the top spot tapping in at the 4:48.03 mark.
Schultz and Helmlinger dueled it out in the 200m freestyle in another Eagle sweep of the top two spots. Schultz took the win with a time of 2:05.86.
Jack Cataneo got his name in the win column in the 100m backstroke picking up the win with a time of 1:05.51.
Luke Wintersgill followed suit in the 10m breaststroke as he,
Eric Wilbur and
Gavin Senger swept the podium for the Eagles.
Albert McNaull kept the them going in the 200m butterfly snatching the win by just 0.48 seconds.
Cibrario added two more wins on the evening first in the 100m freestyle and then capped off the meet teaming up with
Thomas Rose,
Nate Herrman and Cataneo in the 200m freestyle relay. for the second consecutive meet the freshman from Italy broke multiple records in the same meet, this time in the 100m freestyle and the 400m IM.
The Eagles return to the pool on Feb. 8 for the beginning of the ODAC Championships in Greensboro, N.C.
