SWEET BRIAR, Va. – The Bridgewater College equestrian team kicked off its season losing to No. 2 Sweet Briar 8-2.

In the flats the Eagles fell behind the Vixens 4-1. Reigning ODAC Rider of the Year Kelsey Quinn picked up the sole point for BC in the event with a score of 86, while also earning Most Outstanding Performer for the event..

Moving into fences Bridgewater's Jimena Garcia Nunez earned a point edging her opponent out by three points 67-64.

Sweet Briar picked up four more points in the event to take the victory 788-626.

The Eagles will compete again Friday, Oct. 20^th, against currently ranked No. 1 Lynchburg.
