MARTIN, Tn. – The No. 3 Bridgewater College equestrian team take down the No. 10 ranked Dual Discipline team UT Martin Skyhawks in an upset victory.
Following the fences rides, the Eagles trailed the Skyhawks 1-4. The single fences point for Bridgewater came from senior
Emily Nuthall, who scored a 67 to narrowly edge out her competition's score of 66.
The Eagles made a huge recovery during the flat section, sweeping all five points to take a 6 - 4 victory over the Skyhawks.
The first flat point came from junior
Kelsey Quinn, who won her point 77 - 68. Her performance also secured the honor of being named flat MOP for the meet.
The second point for the Eagles came from senior
Emily Nuthall, who beat her competition 68 - 65.
Freshman Ellie Weinreb brought home Bridgewater's third flat point with a score of 69, beating her opponent's score of 68.
Bridgewater's fourth flat point came from junior
Delaney Broderick, who took town her competition 62 - 58.
The final flat point and the point that secured the win for the Eagles came from senior
Caroline Warren who edged out her competition 72 - 71.
The Eagles will be back on the road next week as they travel to Lynchburg to compete in the ODAC Equestrian Championships.
