LYNCHBURG, Va. – The No.3 Bridgewater College equestrian team fell 9-1 to the No.2 Sweet Briar Vixens in the second round of the ECAC Championships Friday afternoon.
The Eagles opened the day against the Vixens in fences, falling behind 5-0 as the Vixens came out hot to begin the meet.
In the Flat, Ellie Weinreb collected the first and only point for the Eagles with a 141-89 victory over Emmy Longest.
The Vixens earned four more points in the flat winning 4-1, 762-735 in points, and extending its lead to 9-1 for the final score.
The Eagles are awaiting a decision from the NCEA to determine if they have been selected to compete in the NCEA National Championships in Ocala, Florida.
