LYNCHBURG, Va – The No. 4 ranked Bridgewater College equestrian team fell in a close meet against the No.1 ranked Lynchburg hornets.
Concluding in a 3-5 loss, Bridgewater only trailed Lynchburg by 16 points in the raw scores, as they lost with 589 points to Lynchburg's 605 total points.
Freshman Ellie Weinreb shined, taking both her flat and fences points. Over fences, she earned a close victory with a score of 83, edging out her opponent's score of 82. She also won her point on the flat with a score of 75, taking a 3-point lead over her competition.
The other point for the Eagles came from senior
Caroline Warren, who won her point in the flat with a score of 76, beating out her opponents score of 70.
The Eagles will be back on the road next Friday as they travel to Martin, TN for a meet against UT Martin.
