WINCHESTER, Va. – The Bridgewater College women's tennis team fell to Shenandoah 3-6 on Tuesday in ODAC action.
The Hornets opened by taking the top two doubles matches but a wire-to-wire performance from
Emily Wylie and
Felicity Copenhaver at the No. 3 spot kept BC in the match as the Eagles duo prevailed 8-5.
Shenandoah took a win at the top spot, but
Malena Hoover and
Grace Knighton each weathered the storm to take tight straight set victories at the No.3 and No. 4 spots respectively. Hoover prevailed 6-3, 6-3 while Knighton was victorious 6-3, 6-4.
After the pair of wins kept the team score alive,
Ryan Roeber was in a tight opening set at the No. 5 spot before falling 3-6, 1-6.
The Eagles will wait to see if they earn a spot in the upcoming ODAC Tournament slated to begin next week.
