GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Bridgewater College men's swimming team saw action in day two of the ODAC Championships.
Zachary Erb qualified for the 200-yard IM finals registering the fastest preliminary time of 1:52.60.
Tommy Ronayne and
Kris Schultz also claimed spots in the finals recording times of 1:55.71 and 1:57.06, respectively.
Moving to the 50-yard freestyle,
Connor Cayer placed third after being clocked at the 20.73 mark and just being edged out of second place by one hundredth of a second.
Travis McCauley earned the second fastest time in the event after registering a time of 21.15 while Ben Beudoin was the final Eagle to qualify for the finals touching the wall at the 21.99 mark.
Erb broke the meet record in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:50.85 to take home first place and also earn a First Team All-ODAC selection. Ronayne was also included on the All-ODAC first team after finishing second in the event being clocked at the 1:53.99 mark.
Cayer secured a spot on the All-ODAC second team after finishing fourth in the 50-yard freestyle touching the wall at 20.97 and teammate McCauley was included as a Third Team All-ODAC selection finishing sixth with a time of 21.06.
The squad of
Andrea Cibrario,
Luke Wintersgill, Erb and Cayer grabbed silver in the 400-yard medley relay being timed at the 3:23.09 mark.
In the 200-yard freestyle relay
Ben Beaudoin, Cayer, Cibrario and McCauley finished with bronze after a 1:24.76 finish.
Washington and Lee currently holds the lead with 320 points, BC takes the second spot with 176 and Lynchburg follows in third with 170 points.
Bridgewater competes tomorrow with beginning with preliminaries at 10 a.m. and will move to the finals at 6 p.m.
