GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Bridgewater College men's swimming team had eleven swimmers qualify for the finals this evening.
Zachary Erb qualified for the 400-yard IM finals posting after posting a time of 4:04.41 which was the second fastest time of the preliminary round.
Tommy Ronayne earned a finals spot being clocked with a 4:08.99 finish while
Ean Helmlinger was the final qualifier being timed at the 4:13.15 mark.
The Eagles had three more qualify in the 100-yard fly with
Andrea Cibrario placed third finishing with a time of 50.55.
Connor Cayer and
Ben Beaudoin were the final two qualifiers for the event after securing times of 51.97 and 54.10, respectively.
Kris Schultz was the lone qualifier for BC in the 200-yard freestyle finishing with the seventh best time of 1:45.30 and shaving off 3.04 seconds off his seed time.
Luke Wintersgill (57.91),
Jeffrey Prevost (59.22),
Eric Wilbur (1:01.29) and
Gavin Senger (1:01.92) will compete later this evening in the 100-yard breaststroke finals.
Four Bridgewater swimmers will compete in the 100-yard backstroke. Cibrario grabbed a time of 52.30 to make his second finals appearance of the evening.
Jose Urdaneta was the second fastest Eagle in the event with a time of 54.72.
Thomas Rose (55.04) and
Jack Cataneo (55.91) round out the qualifiers for BC.
Erb, Cibrario, Wintersgill and Cayer teamed up in the 200-yard medley relay to claim silver with a time of 1:31.52. Cayer recorded the fastest split time of 20.37.
In the 400-yard IM Erb saw a second place finish with a time of 4:04.56 while teammate Ronayne took third being recorded at the 4:05.77 mark.
Cibrario claimed a Third Team All-ODAC selection in the 100-yard fly after placing fifth in the event with a time of 50.59. He was also sixth in the 100-yard backstroke being recorded at 52.32.
Wintersgill grabbed Second Team All-ODAC in the 100-yard breaststroke touching the wall at the 57.74 mark good enough for second place.
Washington and Lee sits firmly atop the leaderboard with 642 points, Bridgewater holds on to the second spot with 342 points and Lynchburg is in third with 337 points.
The Eagles compete in the final day of the ODAC Championships tomorrow with preliminaries starting at 10 a.m. and finals beginning at 5 p.m.
