FERRUM, Va. - The Bridgewater College men's Tennis team wrapped up its season with a 7-2 victory at Ferrum on Thursday.
BC went ahead early with a pair of wins in doubles action.
Noah Hughes and
Matthew Leonard picked up an 8-4 victory at the No. 2 spot, while
Corey Beshoar and
Bryce Cline rolled to an 8-1 win at the No. 3 spot.Â
Ferrum got on the boar with a win at No. 1 doubles, but a quick 6-0, 7-5 win from
Ryan Briggman at the No. 4 spot righted the momentum. Beshoar followed with a 6-3, 6-1 win at the No. 2 slot and
Gabe Elder polished off the victory with a 6-4, 6-2 win at the top spot.
Coree Nicely earned his first victory of the season at the No. 6 slot with a 7-5, 7-6(5) and Bryce Clin polished off his career with a win at the No. 3 slot by a 6-3, 6-4 stat line.
Nicholas Arnold was the final player on court in singles play and battled for nearly two hours before coming up just short 5-7, 6-7(5) out on court five.
BC finishes the season a 5-10 overall record and a 2-7 mark in conference play. The Eagles come up just one match short of qualifying for the ODAC Tournament for just the second time under coach
Jordon Robinson.
