LYNCHBURG, Va. - Bridgewater men's swimming fell short to Lynchburg on the road in the first dual meet of the season with a final score of 145-116 Saturday afternoon.
Junior Zachary Erb continued his impressive times from last season with more of the same promising results against the Hornets. Erb took wins in the 400 medley relay with a 57.43 split, the 100y breaststroke for a 58.30 time, the 200 Breast at 2:11.75, and the 200 individual medley at 1:59.73.
The 400-medley relay with Christian Carroll, Erb, Kaleb Erb, and Andrea Cibrario kicked off the meet with a win off a finishing time of 3:32.01.
On top of Erb's win in the 100 Breast, Alex Bae also placed with a solid fifth-place result of 1:03.41.
Then, Connor Cayer locked down an impressive finish in the 50y freestyle, beating out the second-place finisher by a tenth of a second to finish with a time of 21.81.
Shortly after, Carroll and Cayer went 1st and 2nd, respectively in the 100 Free to take times of 48.63 and 48.85.
Freshman Kaleb Erb led the way in the 100y butterfly with a time of 52.74 while Ben Beaudoin took second at 54.26 and Cayer took fourth at 55.72 to round out the day at Lynchburg.
