LEXINGTON, Va. - Bridgewater College men's swimming nailed a strong season opener in the W&L Natatorium at ODAC Relays Saturday afternoon. In the team scores, Bridgewater placed third in a field of seven teams, scoring 231 points. With that finish, the Bridgewater men's squad tied its highest result at the meet ever.
The men took on the challenge among strong, competitive squads. In the 3x50 yard butterfly; Kaleb Erb, Colton White, and Christian Carroll took second with a strong time of 1:10.69. Then, in the 3x50 back (Zachary Erb, Carroll, Andrea Cibrario), 3x50 breast relay (Z. Erb, A. Nani, K. Erb), and the 3x100 IM (K. Erb, Z. Erb, White) all three-men relays took second.
To follow, in the 400-yard freestyle; K. Erb, White, Andrea Cibrario, and Connor Cayer placed fourth with a time of 3:19.33. Also in the results, the Eagles scored a second-place finish in the 200-medley relay with Carroll, Z. Erb, K. Erb, and Cayer for a time of 1:36.05.
To round out the strong day, Cayer, Cibrario, Z. Erb, and Carroll landed a third-place result in the 200 Free with a solid time of 1:26.27.
