FERRUM, Va. – The Bridgewater College women's tennis team rolled past Ferrum on Monday 6-0, in ODAC play.
BC started by clinching the doubles point with a 6-2 victory by
Sarah Slagle and
Jolexie Whetzel at the No. 1 spot, while
Emma Staton and
Raea Crabill secured the point with a 6-3 win at No. 2.
The Eagles continued to roll in singles play, as Slagle cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 win at the top spot. Some lineup maneuvering saw Crabill appear at the No. 2 spot, and she battled her way to a 1-6, 6-3, 11-9 victory.
Devon Wichael dropped the opening set at No. 3, but battled back on her way to a 3-6, 7-5, 10-3 victory.
Charlotte Weaver rounded out the singles matches with a -4, 3-6, 10-8 win at the No. 4 spot, while
Carson Cale picked up the forfeit victory at No. 5.
The Eagles continue a busy week tomorrow as they host No. 32 Washington & Lee.
