BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Bridgewater College women's tennis team took down Mary Baldwin 5-2 on Tuesday.
BC started the day by sweeping doubles action to clinch the opening point.
Jolexie Whetzel and
Emma Staton picked up a 6-3 victory at the top spot.
Charlotte Weaver and
Raea Crabill picked up a 7-6 victory at No. 2, while
Devon Wichael and Carson Cale picked up a win at No. 3 by the same scoreline.Â
BC started singles play by picking up quick wins. Whetzel rolled to a 6-2, 6-3 win at the top spot while Crabill dropped just two games on the way to a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 3. Wichael added a 6-1, 6-3, while Staton grinded out a 6-0, 4-6, 10-1 victory at the No. 2 spot to finish off BC's victories.
The Eagles are back in action on Thursday as they host Hollins on Senior Day.Â
