Jackson Named First Bridgewater College Flag Football Coach

BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Bridgewater College Director of Athletics Curt Kendall has announced BJ Jackson as the first Head Flag Football Coach in school history.

"We are very excited to have BJ [Jackson] as our first head coach," said Kendall. "She is very knowledgeable in the sport and brings many past successes with her. Above all, she has great passion and energy for flag football."

Jackson comes to Bridgewater with nearly a decade of experience coaching flag football. She most recently served as the head coach at Smith Mountain High School in Phoenix, Ariz and has had multiple student-athletes go on to play at the collegiate level. Her coaching experience has seen her teams capture multiple championships, including four NFL Flag Championships, along with a Junior Olympic Championship in 2025.

"It's going to be phenomenal to build a program here at Bridgewater," said Jackson. "We are going to build a program with a focus on effort, culture and growth where you get out what you put in."

Jackson graduated from Arizona State University in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in exercise and wellness. She received her Master of Business Administration in Sports from Grand Canyon University in 2018. Along with her coaching, Jackson has also served as a health and physical education teacher since 2016.
