Bridgewater College shortstop Jacob Talley has been one of the Eagles most consistent performers during his first three years in the program. This summer, he is getting the chance to continue working on his game, playing with the Charlottesville Ton Sox in the prestigious Valley Baseball League.
Bridgewater College closed out its regular season Saturday afternoon by splitting a doubleheader with Emory & Henry. E&H won the opener 9-8 in 10 innings while Bridgewater took the win in Game 2, 13-8.
Bridgewater College settled for a split Saturday afternoon in a conference twinbill at Lynchburg. The Eagles took a 4-1 lead to the bottom of the ninth in the first game, but the Hornets took advantage of three Eagles' errors to rally for a 5-4 win. The Eagles salvaged a split with a 3-2 victory in the second game.
Bridgewater's JT Creed singled to right with two outs in the bottom of the 14th inning, scoring Jacob Talley from second with the winning run to give the Eagles a 7-6 victory and a split of Saturday's doubleheader with Roanoke. The Maroons scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning to defeat the Eagles 4-3 in the opener.
