Trine Turns Back Eagles, 8-5

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Trime took the lead with four runs in the bottom of the fourth and the Thunder led the rest of the way in an 8-5 victory Monday afternoon over Bridgewater.

The Eagles took the lead with a run in the top of the first. Jarrett Biesecker led off the inning with a walk and stole second. Brett Jones chased Biesecker home with a single to put the Eagles on the board.

Trine tied the score with a run in the bottom of the third and then took the lead with the four-run outburst in the fourth. Zack Schulte drove in two runs with a single and Jacob Heller added a two-run double for the Thunder in the fourth.

The Eagles closed the gap with two runs in the top of the fifth inning. Biesecker walked and Jacob Talley followed with a base hit. Jones and Luke Paczewski followed with run-scoring singles to trim the Thunder's lead to 5-3.

Trine stretched the lead with two runs in the sixth and one in the seventh to go up 8-3.

Bridgewater added two runs in the ninth, making the score 8-5. Talley had a run-scoring single in the ninth for the Eagles.

Hunter Mohr took the loss on the mound, allowing five runs in five innings. The Eagles' freshman struck out nine batters.

Bridgewater is back in action Wednesday with games against Muhlenberg and Ohio Northern.
