Kevin Navedo hits for the Eagles.

LEXINGTON, Va. - Washington and Lee erased a 2-0 Bridgewater lead with three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and the Generals went on to defeat the Eagles, 8-2, Tuesday afternoon in ODAC baseball action.

The Eagles took the lead in their first at-bat. Jarrett Biesecker led off the game with a single and moved to third on a single by Jacob Talley. Biesecker scored when Luke Paczewski grounded into a double play.

Bridgewater added its second run in the third inning. Jacob Grabeel led off the frame with a single and moved around to third on a bunt single by Biesecker. Grabeel scored on a single by Paczewski, making the score 2-0.

Eagles' starter Tristan Daywalt blanked the Generals over the first four innings, but ran into trouble in the fifth. Back-to-back one-out doubles by Ben Decembrino and Chadwick Feeley put the Generals on the board. Jason Volpicelli singled to center, scoring Feeley to tie the score at 2-2. Volpicelli moved to third on a single by Ryan Monson and scored on an errant pickoff throw to first by Daywalt, giving W&L a 3-2 lead.

The Generals tacked on three more runs in the sixth inning and two runs in the seventh put W&L ahead 8-2.

Bridgewater had 14 hits in the contest but stranded 12 runners on base.

Paczewski led the Eagles with a 4-for-5 day at the plate and Kevin Navedo added three hits in four at-bats. Biesecker and Talley each finished with two base hits.

The Eagles, now 7-14 overall, return to action Wednesday when they host Averett in a non-conference contest.
