BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Washington and Lee scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning to snap a 3-3 tie and then held on in the bottom of the ninth for a key 6-5 conference victory Wednesday afternoon over Bridgewater College.

The Eagles threatened in the bottom of the eighth inning with two runners on and two outs, but the Generals went to the bullpen for closer Danny Devereux and the righthander recorded the third out of the inning with a strikeout to end the threat.
W&L then took the lead with three runs in the top of the ninth. Monson delivered the key blow with a two-run double and Loewenberg added a run-scoring single, giving the visitors a 6-3 lead.

Talley singled up the middle to score Grabeel and Paczewski plated Biesecker with a sacrifice fly to pull the Eagles to within a run at 6-5.
