Bridgewater Riders Place Third At U.Va. Show

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Bridgewater College placed third Saturday in the season-opening IHSA show hosted by the University of Virginia. Bridgewater scored 26 points to finish behind Randolph with 38 points  and Virginia with 35.

Freshman Michael Golinowski took fourth place in both the Open Flat and Open Fences classes. 
 
In the Intermediate division, Caroline Shipe won the over fences class and Samantha Hawyrsko earned second place. Senior Megan Heffernan had a strong ride in the Intermediate Flat class. 
 
Junior Georgia Osborne earned reserve high-point honors for the day, with a second place in Novice Flat and a fourth place in Novice Fences. Laurin Watts showed in Novice Fences and Isabel Ammendolia showed in Novice Flat.
 
Seniors Michaela Jeuick and Hannah Foster competed in the Advanced Walk-Trot-Canter class. Foster was third in Section A and Jeuick was third in Section B.
 
Freshman Ryanna Power had a great IHSA debut in the Walk-Trot Division, earning fourth place. 
 
The Bridgewater IHSA team will co-host with James Madison University on Saturday, October 27 at the Bridgewater College Equestrian Center.
